For the most fashionable clothing brands, at substantially reduced prices, make sure you visit Colette on the rue Saint Honore, in mid-January, when it holds its annual sale. The famous upscale department store is where you can pick up the finest in men’s and women’s fashion, cosmetics, sportswear, technology, art, music and home décor. Au Bon Marche, Printemps and many other famous shops also hold their annual sales events during January.
Salon du Meuble
The Porte de Versailles Convention Center hosts an international exposition of the best furniture makers and dealers from over 40 countries, most of which is open only to the international trade, but some times also have been reserved for the general public. Fete des Rois

Bocuse d’Or
The town of Lyon hosts this international competition between chefs, begun about 20 years ago as the Salon des Metiers de Bouche, to showcase the town of Lyon as the world’s culinary capital. Currently, it is held in conjunction with Eurexpo at Lyons’s Exhibition Center and partly sponsored by chef Bocuse’s restaurant L’Auberge du Pont de Collonges in Lyon. Held in late January.
